Hospital move

Sutcliffe Catering has won a five-year contract at two Surrey hospitals with sales totalling £4.25m a year.

The contract starts in November at the Royal Surrey County and St Luke's hospitals in Guildford, and includes catering for patients, staff and visitors on both sites.

The service, currently provided by in-house caterers, will be taken over by Sutcliffe's NHS Hotel Services division, which was set up three years ago and now has 25 contracts.

Sporting prospect

Pall Mall Catering is to run a 7,500-seat football and sports stadium opening next month, under a 10-year contract giving the company responsibility for the entire operation.

Pall Mall will provide catering and hospitality services at Northampton Sixfields Community Stadium, as well as taking charge of ticket offices, match control, security, cleaning, grounds and pitch maintenance, and building maintenance.

The stadium will be home to the third division Northampton Town football club, plus the town's rugby league, American football and Phoenix athletic clubs.

Caterskill century

Midlands-based Caterskill has broken through the 100-contract barrier and expects turnover to top £12.5m at the end of its financial year in two months' time.

The company, which operates only in the Midlands, has gained 21 contracts so far this year. These include Ruddles Brewery, Warwickshire College of Agriculture, Horticulture & Equine Studies and four sites for GEC Engineering Services.
