Court says third offence makes restaurateur a marked man

The owner of an Indian take-away who was found guilty of three food safety offences in six months has been electronically tagged to prevent him from operating his restaurant.

Environmental health officers ordered the closure of the Kamran in Wakefield, West Yorkshire in December after its owner, Mohammed Ashraf failed to deal with a cockroach infestation, despite improvement notices.

Pontefract Magistrates Court issued the curfew order for three months. It required Ashraf to wear an electronic tag to ensure he did not work at his restaurant.
