New owners blow in to Trumpet's Verzons
Herefordshire's two-star Verzons Inn, in the village of Trumpet, has been sold for close to £750,000. The eight-bedroom hotel, a former Georgian farmhouse, has a bar and restaurant with seating for about 75 diners. There is also an 80-capacity function suite and four-bedroom owners' accommodation.
The new owners are David and Gillian Pinchbeck. David has more than 25 years' experience in the industry, having recently sold a restaurant. The agent was Christie & Co.
The Choos fit for Swandown, Swindon
The three-diamond Swandown hotel in Swindon, Wiltshire, has been sold through agent Christie & Co for close to £650,000. Stephen and Fiona Choo have bought the three-storey, 17-bedroom property. One-bedroom accommodation is provided for the owners.
Long Range owners swap to Prince Hall
The eight-bedroom Prince Hall hotel at Two Bridges, Devon, has been sold for close to £495,000 for the leasehold. Buyers John and Anne Grove previously owned the Long Range hotel in Budleigh Salterton in Devon. Colliers Robert Barry was the agent.
New staff in at the Flodigarry, Staffin
The 18-bedroom Flodigarry Country House hotel in Staffin on the Isle of Skye has been sold for more than its £1m asking price. Included in the sale was the cottage of Flora MacDonald, who helped Bonnie Prince Charlie flee to the island after being beaten at Culloden in 1746.
The buyer of the hotel, a former 19th-century hunting lodge, is Robbie Cairns, who is new to the hotel industry. Colliers Robert Barry was the agent.
Culane House tops half-million mark
Culane House hotel in Edinburgh has been sold for more than £500,000. The hotel features eight bedrooms, a 20-seat dining room, a lounge bar and one-bedroom owners' accommodation. Christie & Co was the agent.
Newcomers get a West Beach view
Agent Christie & Co has sold the 12-bedroom Abereistedd hotel in Gwynedd, North Wales, off an asking price of £385,000.
The hotel, which overlooks West Beach, also features a 30-seat restaurant and owners' accommodation.
Newcomers to the industry Brian and Lynda Gifford, from Bedfordshire, have bought the property.
