Yorkshire return for couple North Yorkshire pub the Black Horse, in the village of Ainderby Quernhow, near Thirsk, has been sold through agent Colliers Robert Barry for a figure believed to be the asking price of £239,500. Owners, Jeff and Jan Guest, are retiring and the property has been bought by Paul and Susan Fernley, who are moving back to Yorkshire from the South of England.

Cotswolds inn fetches £80,000 The White Hart Inn in Ashton Keynes, a village in the Wiltshire Cotswolds, has been sold for the asking price of £80,000. The pub includes a 32-seat restaurant and has been sold to pub newcomers Thomas Fuller and Catherine Cook, from Swindon. Christie & Co was the agent.

Thwaites snaps up Enterprise pair Enterprise Inns has sold two inns in the Pennines, West Yorkshire, to regional brewer Daniel Thwaites for a total of more than £310,000. The Dalesman (top) in Denby Dale and the White Lion in Heptonstall, near Hebden Bridge, were on the market through agent Christie & Co for £160,000 and £150,000 respectively. Both pubs were sold for above the asking price.

Kent hotel deal goes through The Marstons hotel chain has sold Stade Court hotel, a 42-bedroom, three-star property in Hythe, Kent, to a private London-based buyer. The hotel, on the market through agent Christie & Co, was sold for a figure just below the asking price of £1.35m.

Businessman buys Inn on the Park The 90-seat Inn on the Park at Astley Hall, near Chorley, Lancashire, has been sold on behalf of brother-and-sister team Steven and Linda Taylor to Peter Watson, a local businessman, through the Manchester office of Christie & Co. It is believed to have been sold for a figure very close to the asking price of £650,000. Watson plans to keep the main inn and restaurant running as normal but to convert the function rooms upstairs to offices for his healthcare business.

Refurb under way at Riverside hotel The 17-bedroom Riverside hotel in Monmouth, Gwent, has been sold to private entrepreneurs the Collins family, who also run the Beaufort hotel in nearby Chepstow. It was on the market for £695,000 and, says agent Colliers Robert Barry, an offer has been accepted based on that figure. The hotel was taken over in January and has now been partly refurbished, with more work due to be carried out over the coming year.
