El Rincón restaurant to close
Claudio Pulze and Raj Sharma's Spanish-style El Rincón restaurant in London is closing tomorrow night, just six months after it opened. El Rincón, the fifth restaurant in the pair's London-based Cuisine Collection restaurant group, is on the site of the former Pond Street restaurant in Pond Place, Chelsea. It is expected tol reopen after Easter with a different name and a different style of food. A Cuisine Collection spokesman said: "After Easter they \[Sharma and Pulze\] will be looking to see if they need to change the concept because perhaps El Rincón is not working as well as they wanted it to." The 70-seat restaurant opened in October. The dishes cost £4.50-£6 for a starter, £12.50-£14.25 for a main course and £4.50 for a dessert. In December its basement kitchen was flooded and the restaurant was closed during the month while work was carried out to repair the damage. There were approximately seven staff at El Rincón. The other restaurants in the group are Il Forno in Frith Street, Al Duca in Duke of York Street, Zaika in Fulham Road and L'Anis in Kensington High Street.
