English Lakes to manage Storrs Hall

English Lakes Hotels has signed a 10-year contract to manage the 25-bedroom Storrs Hall hotel in the Lake District.

The deal, with owner Les Hindle, is the group's first management contract and follows a major refurbishment of the hotel in Windermere, Cumbria.

Simon Berry, managing director of English Lakes Hotels, said it was unusual to find management deals in the Lake District but he would look at more in the future.

The firm, a family business for 50 years, plans to expand from six hotels to 10 in the next two years.

"We will look at top-end hotels with lake frontage, primarily in the Lake District," he said. "This could be a mix of management deals and owned hotels."
