Eurest wins £18m Nuclear contract
Eurest has landed the contract to provide staff catering, vending, grounds maintenance and cleaning services at seven of energy provider Nuclear Electric's sites. The deal was secured in partnership with cleaning and building services contractor MITIE Group.
The partnership won the three-and-a-half-year contract, with a total turnover of £18m, in competition with more than 26 other bidders.
The first phase of the changeover began last week at the power stations in Heysham, Lancashire, Hartlepool in Cleveland and Sizewell in Suffolk, as well as the company's headquarters in Barnwood, Gloucestershire, and two staff training centres in Ipswich and Bristol.
Adrian Dyer, managing director of Eurest North West, said the contract was won because of the teamwork put in by Eurest and MITIE.
"We invested a massive amount of time and energy on understanding Nuclear Electric's needs," Mr Dyer said.
