Abergavenny Food Festival

Welsh food lovers will be descending on Abergavenny, Monmouthshire, for the town's fifth annual food festival on 20 and 21 September.

Highlights will include master cookery classes from chefs Giorgio Locatelli, Stephen Terry and Bryan Webb, and talks from River Café owners Ruth Rogers and Rose Gray, among others.

York Festival of Food and Drink

The York Festival of Food and Drink, one of the larger food festivals in this country, takes place 12-21 September.

Central to the event will be a food theatre, which will include cooking demonstrations from David Spencer, head chef of Swinton Park in Masham, North Yorkshire, and Andrew Pern, chef-proprietor of the one-Michelin-starred Star Inn in Harome, North Yorkshire, on Monday 15; Richard Allen, head chef of the Fourth Floor restaurant at Harvey Nichols in Leeds, on Tuesday 16; and chef-restaurateur Brian Turner on Saturday 20.

Other highlights include special set-price menus at city restaurants.

Highland Food and Drink Festival

Food from the Highlands will take centre stage at the Highland Food and Drink Festival on 2-5 October.

The festival will be staged at venues around the Inverness area.

Everything from wild venison to salmon, beef and, of course, whisky will be showcased under the theme Fortify The Spirit.
