Fire closes Quaglino's

Terence Conran's brasserie Quaglino's has been closed for a week following a fire on Saturday night.

The fire is believed to have started at around 6pm after a large flame from one of the kitchen stoves was sucked into the extractor hood by heavy winds. The first visible flames appeared on the roof and the fire brigade was called.

Around 30 diners were evacuated and accommodated elsewhere. No one was hurt. As Caterer went to press the extent of the damage was not known.
