The MiniTemp portable thermometer employs infrared measurement to read temperatures within the range -18¼C to +260¼C. The user points the device at the subject, aided by a bright red dot of the laser sight, then "shoots to take a reading. Response times of 0.5 secs are claimed.
The unit can also be used to monitor air conditioning, balance room temperatures, test ductwork efficiency and check electrical systems for hot spots. Price for the model MT4: £97.50. The MT2, a version without a laser sight, is available at £72.50.
