Pritchitt Foods walked away with the gold award in this category for its innovative Twinners breakfast cereal. This is a ready-to-eat, single-serve cereal combined with the company's half-fat Millac Maid milk. This take-away product has a five-month shelf life.

The judges said: "A great commercial success for airports, schools, vending machines and office bound ‘deskfasting.'" "From a taste point of view, good to see." "Love the spoon."

Nestlé UK's Maggi Cold Mix Mash Potato won silver. This innovative product can be mixed with cold water and is ready to use in three minutes. It is freeze-thaw stable and comes in 2 x 4kg packs, yielding 208 x 100g portions each. The judge said: "Energy saving, hygiene friendly." "Authentic looking.".

Pritchitt Foods also scooped the bronze award in this category. Its Chefs Taste liquid stock concentrate mixes instantly with hot or cold water for a stock base and in concentrated form may be used to add flavour to sauces, soups and casseroles. It has a one-year shelf life and can be kept refrigerated for three weeks after opening.

The judges said: "With 10 times less salt than its nearest competitor, that's good." " There is nothing else like this in Europe - as far as we know."
