Former Acorn winner to take on Airth Hotel and Spa

A former Caterer Acorn award-winner is to take on the task of turning around the fortunes of the Airth Hotel and Spa Resort in Falkirk, Scotland.

Steven McLeod, 30, will run the 123-bedroom hotel, formerly managed by Radisson SAS, which was in receivership until it was bought by Airth Castle on 24 March for an undisclosed sum.

His first role as general manager was at the Inchyra Grange Hotel, Falkirk in 1998.

Most recently, he has managed the Holyrood Hotel in Edinburgh and the Cardrona Hotel, Golf and Country Club in Peebles.

"I'm looking forward to re-establishing the Airth Castle Hotel and Spa Resort as a luxury hotel," he said. "It has been a sleeping giant for years, but I can guarantee I will be waking the giant up."
