Four Seasons serves up the all-conquering cuppa

Bill Gorman, executive director of the Tea Council, and John Stauss, general manager of Four Seasons London, take tea at the hotel, voted winner of the council's 2003 Top London Afternoon Tea Award.

Mystery tasters from the Tea Guild, set up by the Tea Council to promote the business of specially invited member organisations, visited 20 venues in July to assess not only the variety and quality of the teas offered but the ways in which it was brewed and served.

The mystery inspector described tea at the Four Seasons as an "extremely relaxing, calming and elegant experience".
