Four years for killer of pizza man

A pizza delivery man died after being attacked by a teenager during an argument over payment, the Old Bailey was told last week. His 17-year-old attacker, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been sentenced to four years for manslaughter.

The victim, 28-year-old Abdul Hadi, worked for Star Pizza in Hackney, east London. He was punched by the teenager while delivering a take-away to the boy's home in Hackney on 21 March.

A row broke out when the killer and his friend asked to pay by cheque but were told the delivery men could accept only cash. As Hadi and his delivery partner left with the food, the frustrated youth yanked him from his car and knocked him down with a single blow to the head.

Hadi suffered a fatal head injury as he hit the ground and died four days later in hospital.
