Funding boost for Scots school meals
School meals providers in Scotland are likely to get extra funding at the end of this month.
A team of local authority caterers, nutritionists, head teachers and other experts, brought together in January to establish nutritional standards for school meals and increase their appeal and uptake, is preparing to submit a draft report to ministers. A spokesman for the Scottish Executive said he expected extra funding would be given to school meal providers to implement the objectives.
