Furlong to buy Lygon Arms?

Speculation was mounting this week that Furlong Hotels Group is looking to buy the Savoy Group's Lygon Arms hotel in the Cotswolds.

The Savoy Group is understood to be in exclusive talks to sell the property, in Broadway, Worcestershire, to the private hotel group for a price in the region of £10m.

Furlong is a five-strong hotel group controlled by the Fentum family. Haydn Fentum said: "I cannot confirm or deny anything. What I can say is that Furlong Hotels is committed to expansion during the course of 2003."
