Gelardi steps up
Geoffrey Gelardi, managing director of the five-star Lanesborough hotel in London, has become senior vice-president of operations for Rosewood Hotels and Resorts.
He will be responsible for the future development of all Rosewood properties in Europe and the Middle East, including the 95-bedroom Lanesborough, on Hyde Park Corner.
Gelardi is a third-generation hotelier. His grandfather, Commendatoré Giulio Gelardi, was simultaneously general manager of Claridge's in London and general manager of the Waldorf Towers in New York, when it opened in 1931. His father, Albert Gelardi, now retired, was president of Trust House Forte North America.
