Ha!Ha! Bar & Canteen adds to portfolio

Laurel Pub Company is adding to its Ha!Ha! Bar and Canteen estate with new sites in Plymouth, Oxford and Leeds.

A total of £3m will be paid to develop the new bars, which come after a recent £1m-plus Ha!Ha! bar opening at Liverpool's Albert Dock.

Plymouth Ha!Ha! will be on the corner of Princess Street and San Sebastian Square, while the Leeds bar will be housed in the new Electric Press development at Millennium Square.

The third site will open in the Oxford Castle development in Oxford this September.

Laurel has 25 bar and canteens nationwide following its £202m May swoop for rival Yates Group.

Managing director Rufus Hall said: "Every Ha!Ha! has a different personality, but they share the same values of great fresh food and drink in stylish surroundings."

Last month Laurel purchased 98 city-centre bars from SFI Group for £80m in a bid to consolidate the high-street sector.
