Hand dryer set to alter market

DUALIT has made its first venture into hand dryers in a move which managing director Leslie Gort-Barten claims will force rental companies down the sale route.

"They won't like it, but they will be forced to start selling to compete," Mr Gort-Barten told Caterer. After considerable research, Mr Gort-Barten claims he has combined all the good elements of conventional hand dryers to come up with the Dualit version.

Prices start from around £149 compared with an average rental cost of £2 per week. "It makes no sense to rent," Mr Gort-Barten claims. "Distributors will install and service the dryers just in the same way as any other piece of catering equipment. They've already signed up agents all over Europe."

The Dualit dryers dry hands in around 15 seconds. Mr Gort-Barten is now working on a model with a more powerful motor aiming to do the job in half the time.
