He'll take the high Rhodes

Gary Rhodes is to open his fourth restaurant in an Edinburgh department store by September.

The joint venture with Rhodes' backers, Gardner Merchant, will be the second Rhodes & Co, a brasserie-style restaurant with an average bill of £12 to £15 per person for two courses.

The 100-seat restaurant will be in Jenners department store in Princes Street and will have a separate entrance at street level.

"Edinburgh is a good city with a lot happening from the food perspective," said Phil Hooper, sales and marketing director for Gardner Merchant.

In February, Rhodes opened a 120-seat brasserie in the Quality Hotel at Manchester's Old Trafford football ground.

Further Rhodes & Co restaurants are being planned in other city centres.
