Hospital problem-solver
In a three-year contract with temporary kitchen specialist CKS, Barnet Hospital in north London has ordered extensive temporary facilities to provide catering while the hospital is undergoing a major refit. Requirements covered include primary cooking, chilled food storage, regeneration, and restaurant and office facilities.
The buildings which house the kitchen came from Rollalong and are designed with jack legs in each corner, allowing them to be easily linked side by side or end to end. Rollalong says that it can adapt standard designs or make special amendments to buildings at its factory prior to their deployment.
Jeremy Dicks, retail operations director of Sodexho Healthcare, which operates the facilities at Barnet Hospital, commented: "Space within hospitals is always at a premium and a temporary catering facility provided the optimum solution.
"It enables us to continue service levels without requiring additional space within the hospital during the works."
