Hotel industry is labelled a technological ‘dinosaur'

The hotel industry has a dinosaur-like approach to technology, the Master Innholders general managers conference was told at the Savoy hotel this week.

Melvin Gold, director of hotel leisure and tourism at PKF, added that although some hotels make good use of technology there are many more that do not.

"I don't see the sea change that is required and that gives some serious concerns," he said.

The conference also discussed the importance of the Internet, education, and what the general manager of the future will be like.
