Bakels Foodservice

The growth in interest in organic food has led Bakels Foodservice to develop a range of organic pre-mixes which will be unveiled at the exhibition.

The range includes pre-mixes for white and wholemeal rolls, scones, Madeira cake and muffins to which caterers just add water and then bake. The organic goods will be available for tasting on the Bakels stand and demonstrations using other bakery and confectionery products from the company will be taking place daily.

Cabana

Another first-time exhibitor to Hotelympia is drinks manufacturer Cabana, which will be displaying arange of soft drinks and syrups, cordials and juiceproducts.

The company also supplies dispense equipment including dispense heads, guns and towers.

C Carnevale

C Carnevale, importer of Italian food and wine, will be displaying its award-winning mozzarella among an assortment of Italian products such as fontaneto pasta with fillings of aubergine, rocket and truffle.

Douwe Egberts Coffee Systems

The growth in popularity of premium and speciality coffees in the UK means that caterers need to make sure the coffee they serve matches the customer's increasingly high expectations. Piazza D'Oro is a package including coffee machines, three good-quality coffee blends and training in the art of preparing perfect coffee available from Douwe Egberts Coffee Systems. The company also offers a full range of sales support materials, such as cups and saucers, coasters, ashtrays, sugar sticks and menus.

Eurilait

Food service is the target sector for Eurilait, which will be exhibiting its range of Soignon goats' cheeses including a goat log; a Tomme de Soignon - a hard goats' cheese matured over six weeks and protected by an orange rind; soft goats' cheese for sandwich fillings in 750g tubs; and frozen goats' cheese for pizza toppings.

Finlay's Foods

Food manufacturer and importer Finlay's Foods is claiming a world first in supplying a vegetarian caviare. The seaweed-based product is ambient with a three-year shelf life and will be available for tasting at the show.

MasterFoodServices

Ideas for maximising the use of rice in any catering environment from restaurants to healthcare and education establishments will form the basis of demonstrations by MasterFoodServices executive chef Mark Price. Recipes will include several products from the Uncle Ben's brand, such as the Signature pastes in Thai, Tex-mex and pilau flavours, and a new range of chefs' base sauces. Visitors will be able to taste the finished dishes.

Peppercorn's Natural Food Provisions

Peppercorn's Natural Food Provisions is offering to add appeal and interest to any breakfast buffet with its range of mueslis, crunches and dried fruits. In addition to breakfast foods, the company also has a range of natural bar snacks, nuts and mixes which can be made up to specification.

Vin Sullivan Foods

Tastings and demonstrations using the new Lobster 2000, a ready-cooked, 100% Atlantic lobster product, will take place in the Master Chefs of Great Britain Food Demonstration Theatre.

The product's UK distributor, Vin Sullivan Foods, claims the shell contents are entirely edible with no waste and can supply it flash frozen ready to thaw and serve, or blanched frozen for finishing by microwave or in hot water.

Bottle Green Drinks Company

Gloucestershire-based Bottle Green Drinks Company has added cranberry to its range of ready-to-drink sparkling presses in response to the current popularity of the flavour. The new addition brings to six the number of flavours offered in the range, all of which are free from artificial colours and flavours and will be available for tasting along with the company's six cordials. Barry Callebaut

Chocolatier Hudson Grey will be present on chocolate manufacturer Barry Callebaut's stand to demonstrate the art of tempering chocolate and chocolate-making.

The company, whose products are aimed at caterers from fine-dining restaurants to pubs and cafés making their own desserts, will be introducing some new products at the show. These include the Origin range of chocolate, sourced from a single type of bean that the company says gives the product a more distinct flavour than blended chocolate; Chocolate Mousse Powder, containing 70% real chocolate; and Cräme à la Carte, a blend of chocolate, cream and alcohol with a 12-month shelf life.

Britvic Soft Drinks

Advice on soft drinks merchandising will be available at the Britvic stand together with the company's branded drinks which include J20, a juice-based still drink available in three flavour combinations - apple and mango; orange and passionfruit; and apple and melon - and Robinson's fruit and barley ready-to-drink Fruit Breaks.

Birds Eye Wall's

With a view to the summer months of 2000, Birds Eye Wall's is adding two new flavours to its Carte d'Or range of ice-creams and sorbets. The range, including the new Vanilla Toffee Crunch and Vanilla Chocolate Cookies flavours, will form the basis of demonstrations on the company's stand.

The Bread Roll Company

Exhibiting for the first time at Hotelympia 2000 is the Bread Roll Company. The company will be inviting visitors to sample mini appetisers made with its speciality breads - including focaccia, ciabattini and rye and caraway bloomers. Also on display will be baby muffins, mini almond and chocolate croissants and miniature Danish pastries, ideal for breakfast buffets and as in-room or complimentary snacks.

Handmade Flapjack Company

Individually wrapped giant cookies will be among the cakes and flapjacks on the Handmade Flapjack Company's stand. The 62g cookies are available in five flavours: cherry, mixed fruit, orange chocolate chip, apple and cinnamon, and double chocolate chip. They have a shelf life of 26 weeks after manufacturing.

Caledonian Clear

Caterers wanting to add greater interest to their drinks menus may find what they are looking for at the Caledonian Clear stand in the Scottish Pavilion. The company produces a range of five flavoured waters made with Scottish spring water and pure fruit sugars.

Delice de France

A 250g organic stone oven-baked navette is one of the additions to the range of speciality breads from Delice de France. Also on show will be a 400g pave loaf, a 155g garlic bocata from Spain, granary and bloomer loaves, Irish wheaten bread and soda farls, an oblong 100g multi-cereal bread topped with sesame seeds and a triangular crushed wheat sandwich bread. Kellogg's Food Services

Breakfast on the move is the focus of the Kellogg's products on show. The company aims to enable caterers to create profit opportunities from consumers' demands for convenience. The Kell-Bowl is a sealed individual portion of cornflakes, Special K or Healthwise Bran Flakes with the option of a dispenser unit available from Kellogg's Vending Services for self-serve sales if required.

Larderfresh

The Larderfresh stand will focus on the company's range of butchery prepared meats and oven-ready trimmed portion-controlled fresh meats. In addition the company will be introducing new products such as savoury tartlets and a new line in sausages, including pork and mustard; lamb and mint; and Lincolnshire varieties, which will be available for tasting. Visitors can try two new desserts - an individual clafoutis, a blend of black cherries and egg custard in a sweet butter pastry; and an apple galette, consisting of thinly sliced Golden Delicious apples layered on a butter puff pastry. Demonstrations will include fish filleting by Fish and Poultry Craftsman of the Year and Larderfresh development manager Duncan Lucas. Stand 332

Van den Bergh Foodservice

Garde d'Or, the Van den Bergh Foodservice brand and sponsor of the National Chef of the Year 2000 competition, is a range of concentrated base sauces for adding to stock or water. Uses for the seven varieties - brown base, cheese, curry, hollandaise, tomato, white base and white roux - will be demonstrated at the company's stand.

Marlow Foods

Demonstrations using various Quorn products will take place on the Marlow Foods stand. This meat alternative of mushroom origin is now available as pieces, mince, fillets, goujons, nuggets, burgers and sausages, and recipes demonstrated will include traditional favourites and more exotic dishes.

Plangow Labelling Systems

‘Improve presentation of sandwiches, cakes and morning goods'is the message from Plangow Labelling Systems, which will be displaying its range of labels, including its new café design with matching menu.

Pete & Johnny

London-based Pete & Johnny will be serving up the latest addition to its range of Smoothie drinks. Cranberry blended with apple, banana and blackcurrant has been added to the range of drinks, which contain 100% pure fruit and no dairy products, added sugar, preservatives or flavourings.In addition to the eight varieties available in 330ml bottles, the company has developed two fruit smoothies with added vitamins, minerals and plant extracts. Monster C is a blend of apples, grapes and blackcurrants with vitamin C and Echinacea extract, while vitamins A, B1, B3, B5, B6, B12, E and natural Guarana are all present in the Get Your Vits! blend of orange and mango.

Visitors to the Biotrace stand will be challenged to examine two apparently clean surfaces to see ifthey can spot which is free of contamination. For those who get it right, there is a draw for a prestigious top prize.

Showing for the first time will be the recently launched Bianca Press mid-sized ironing press from Fast Systems. The machine is said to bridge the gap between the small press and the rotary iron.

Visitors to the Intelligent Buisness Systems stand will be treated to a glimpse of the company's range of new software items.

Jarshire Waste Management

Jarshire's all-weather 1100 bin refuse compactor, which is said to compress the contents of six bins into one, is being highlighted at the show, along with demonstrations of compactors and balers for dry waste and bottle crushers.

Laros

A bin compactor which is claimed to reduce bin waste by up to 80% can be seen at the show. The Laros Binpakker will free up space, time and money spent on handling and storing waste, the company claims.

Nobel Enterprises

Two fire-suppression systems suitable for protecting cooking appliances, hoods and ducts are being launched by Nobel enterprises. The K-15 and K-30 systems incorporate the Nobel K-Wet Chemical KitchenSuppressant, which has been specially formulated by ICI's chemists to suppress fires in cooking oil and grease.

A new generation of energy management systems is being launched by Prefect Control, giving touch-of-a -button control over room and water heating. The prefect 2000 series is designed to run from an existing computer network.
