IFE Scotland Imminent

There has already been a huge response to Scotland's first International Food Exhibition, which will be taking place from 4 to 6 April.

More than 80 per cent of the hall space for IFE Scotland has been booked, both by local companies and overseas organisations such as Swedish Farmers, and the American Beverage Markets, and it looks as though it will hit capacity

It is both a retail and a catering show, and with the tremendous amount of crossover between the two areas, there is bound to be a lot to make visitors from both sectors think deeply about where this trend is going to lead them.

Apart from being overloaded with wonderful new food and drink products from all around the world, there will be plenty of theatre to look at, too.

Development chefs from major food companies will be demonstrating their talents and the company wares all around the show. Many of these men and women, put in front of a camera, could show the TV chefs a thing or two and give them a run for their money.

Top chefs will be there as a programme of seminars and chefs demonstrations, which are being organised by the Federation of Chefs Scotland, has been confirmed.

The event is being run by the Scottish-based company SITE in association with Fresh RM.

John Todd, chief executive of SITE is ebullient about the new show: "People will be coming to IFE Scotland to do business and this has all the ingredients for caterers to make something wonderful out of."

IFE Scotland is held at Glasgow's custom-built Scottish Exhibition & Conference Centre which couldn't be easier to get to. It is just a ten minute drive from Glasgow Airport and SECC has its own bus and railway connections. There is parking for 30,000 vehicles and it is only a five minute journey from the city centre.

IFE Scotland is a trade only show. Strictly no visitors under 18 and no children or infants will be admitted.

Entry is free if you apply in advance.
