Indian boycott
Members of the newly formed Indian Hotels Association plan to boycott British and US goods until the bombing of Afghanistan is halted. The group said it had already enrolled 250 members to take part in the boycott. However, the Indian Hotel and Restaurant Association, which has a membership of some 6,000 hoteliers in Bombay alone, said it would not endorse the boycott.
LCS wins centre deal
LCS (London Catering Services) is providing the catering and management services for the new £10m conference centre at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in Regent's Park. The food and beverage part of the three-year contract is worth £500,000 in annual turnover.
Museum contract
The National Maritime Museum Cornwall, due to open in Falmouth next June, has awarded the catering contract to run its Waterside café to Penzance-based Breton Catering, which already runs a similar operation at the Tate St Ives.
Plea for speakers
