Accident kills chef
A French chef who worked at Brockencote Hall hotel near Bromsgrove was killed instantly following a car accident last week. Patrick Josse, a second sous chef, was found dead at the scene. His colleague Andrew Crellin, also a chef at the hotel, received a head injury.
Home for FSA
The Government has taken a step closer to creating the Food Standards Agency by signing a lease for its headquarters at Aviation House in London's Holborn. The building is expected to be ready for occupation by late summer next year.

Allied alliance
Allied Leisure, one of the largest Burger King franchisees in the UK, has agreed to merge with bars and discos group European Leisure, which owns London's Hippodrome. The deal gives European 52% of the merged group.
