Ethnic food on the map

An estimated 5,000 visitors and about 150 exhibitors are expected to be at the first Ethnic Food London exhibition being held at Olympia on 24-26 September next year.

Organiser Fresh RM hopes the show will become an annual event running alongside European Ethnic Food, which was held for the second time in Birmingham this summer.

A recipe of British beef calzone with Italian salad won Nicky Lewin from Toynbee comprehensive school, Chandler's Ford, near Southampton, the title of the UK's National School Cook of the Year. The event was organised by the Meat and Livestock Commission and the Local Authority Caterers Association. It was judged by celebrity chef Lesley Waters.
