Rhodes in the club
Contract caterer Sodexho and chef Gary Rhodes have teamed up to launch a Touch of Rhodes menu at the St James's Club in London. A selection of Rhodes's dishes have been incorporated into the menu.
Waldegrave honour
Caroline Waldegrave, principal of Leith's School of Food and Wine since 1975, has been appointed OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours for her services to the catering industry. She is also a cookery writer.
BHAAnnual lunch

Chez Gerard sale
Restaurant chain Groupe Chez Gérard has raised more than £5m through two sale-and-leaseback deals on its properties in London's Charlotte Street.
The 86-seat Chez Gérard at 8 Charlotte Street was sold for £1.15m and leased back on a rent of £90,000 a year. The 100-seat Bertorelli's at 19-23 Charlotte Street was sold for £4m and leased back at £285,000 a year. The proceeds will be used to fund expansion.
Greene King boost
Brewer and pub group Greene King has reported pre-tax profits up 23% to £54.5m on turnover up 42% to £414.1m for the year ended 29 April 2000. It has 514 managed pubs, including the Hungry Horse pub-restaurant chain.
