Wounding charge

Mostaque Ahmed Chowdhury, 27, of Silchester Road, north Kensington, will appear before Horseferry Road Magistrates' Court on 27 March, charged with unlawfully and maliciously wounding former colleague Mohammed Rezaul Nur Shouruy with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. The alleged incident happened at the Ganges Indian restaurant where he used to work in Praed Street, Paddington, on 2 March.

Diamond accolade

Quilon restaurant in London has been awarded the Five Star Diamond award by the Academy of Hospitality Sciences. Only two other restaurants in the UK have won the award. They are The Conservatory at London's Lanesborough hotel and Chenestons at the Milestone hotel in the capital.

Compensation award

Hotel worker Sandra Reid, 22, has been awarded £12,368 compensation after winning a sex discrimination case against her former boss David Bennett, of the Foxbar hotel in Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire. The Glasgow tribunal originally rejected her claim but this was overturned on appeal.
