Jurys Doyle plans fourth hotel in USA

Ireland-based hotel group Jurys Doyle is looking to open its fourth US hotel, in Boston, in 2003.

Jurys Doyle has 20 hotels and 12 inns, three in Washington, the rest in the UK and Ireland.

In its latest deal, it has entered into a joint partnership with Boston-based family firm Saunders Hotel Group, which owns and operates three hotels in the city.

Saunders will convert the city's former police headquarters into a 220-bedroom Jurys Boston and Jurys Doyle will run it under a 129-year lease. The cost of the development is $55m (£37.8m).

If planning permission is granted building work would begin early next year.

Jurys Doyle expects better trading this year, despite poor results in July and August.
