Lindsay House is crumbling

London restaurant Lindsay House is falling down. Richard Corrigan's celebrated Soho restaurant is in no danger of imminent closure, but the chef admitted that the 18th-century building was facing crisis point.

"The building is coming to the end of its life," he said. "It's a timber-frame structure from 1720 and a few bombs in the area during WW2 added to the fun. It's not the only building in the area with this scenario."

Lindsay House now requires serious structural work to survive more than another 10 years, but Corrigan confirmed that the decision rests with the landlord.

The Michelin-starred chef stressed that his lease still has four to five years to run and that the restaurant will continue doing business during that time. The landlord's decision is expected within the next six months.
