Loch Fyne seeks opening in Bath

Loch Fyne Restaurants is planning to open in Bath as part of its plans to increase the number of its oyster bars and restaurants to 20.

The firm has applied to convert a former bank in the city centre into its seventh restaurant. The building was the subject of a planning wrangle last year when brewery Fuller's was refused permission to turn it into a pub.

Loch Fyne founding director Ian Glyn said the restaurant, which would seat 90, is one of 10 sites the group is considering.

He added: "We raised £3.5m through a share issue earlier this year with the aim of increasing the number of restaurants to 20. We have opened in Barnet and Chalk Farm in London already this year, and are due to open another restaurant in Winchester in November."
