Luible appointed to hot seat at Raffles

Singapore's most famous hotel, the Raffles, has appointed Michael Luible as its general manager.

He succeeds Jennie Chua, who has run the hotel since 1990. She has become deputy chief executive officer of marketing and operations at the Raffles.

She is also president and chief operating officer of Raffles International.

Luible brings with him 15 years' experience of hotels in Asia and Europe. Before joining the Raffles he was general manager of Le Touessrok hotel and Ile Aux Cerfs in Mauritius.

A spokesman for Raffles International said: "With his extensive experience, Luible is well positioned to ensure that Raffles hotel retains its premier status as one of the most internationally acclaimed hotels in the world."

The Raffles has 103 suites and 19 restaurants and bars. It is managed by Raffles International, the hotel management subsidiary of Raffles Holdings.

Raffles Holdings has 39 hotels in 34 cities across Asia, Europe, North America, South America, Australia and Africa, including Brown's Hotel in London.
