Mackay is the seventh most powerful man in the UK

Sir Francis Mackay, chairman of Compass, the world's largest food service company, has been ranked seventh in a power and influence poll looking at the boardrooms of the UK's 100 biggest companies.

The Power 100 poll was conducted by The Times and listed Mackay in the top 10 with a power score of 324.9, calculated by assessing each board member's combined directorships. Mackay is also non-executive chairman for Kingfisher, the retail company. His salary is reported to be £1.45m at Compass with another £192,000 a year from Kingfisher.
