Malmaison to run tearoom at Liberty

Central London department store Liberty has opened a tearoom on its ground floor.

Owner Marylebone Warwick Balfour has appointed its Malmaison hotel group to run the 40-seat site.

The new venture, called TEA, is the second Malmaison-run café, following the opening of Café Mal at its Newcastle hotel last summer.

TEA, which opened on 7 November, will offer 11 different blends of Fairtrade teas at £2.75 per pot. It expects to turn over about £100,000 per year.
