MANAGEMENT salary increases in the leisure industry have lagged behind those in other industry sectors, according to the 1994 Annual Remuneration Survey of the Leisure Industry.

The survey of 65 companies, including 800 job holders, found that management salaries increased by an average of 3.1% during 1993 and 1994, compared with an average increase of 4.1% for all management in the UK.

Salaries for directors in the industry increased by anaverage of 3.5%. In addition, directors received an average bonus of 22%, while managers received 14.6% bonuses during 1994.

All companies surveyed were offering an overallsalary increase this year, after a third of companies froze salaries last year.
