Marriott apprentice scheme to continue
Marriott hotels in the UK will continue to run their modern apprenticeship scheme next year despite a recruitment freeze which has been introduced in the company's London hotels.
The programme aims to attract at least 200 new workers to the company in 2002.
David Goodson, director of training at Marriott, said the apprenticeship scheme would remain unchanged.
The programme, which is open to all existing employees aged between 16 and 24 and new starters, lasts for up to two years and is offered in various departments including food and beverage, housekeeping, reception, restaurant/bar and chef.
Three hundred people are taking part in the programme.
