Marriott workers among missing

Marriott International said this week that two of its staff had not been accounted for after the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center.

Two of its New York hotels had been evacuated and they believed all guests were safe.

The Marriott next door to the towers, the New York Marriott World Trade Center, collapsed the day after the attack.

The other Marriott hotel to be evacuated was the New York Marriott Financial Centre in West Street. It was seriously damaged by falling debris, but no full structural assessment has yet been made.

Guests evacuated from the two hotels were being looked after by five other Marriott hotels in the city.

These are the New York Marriott Marquis; the New York Marriott East Side; the Rihga Royal, a JW Marriott; the New York Marriott Brooklyn, and the Jersey City Marriott.
