Merged group offers one-stop-shop for staff

Catering recruitment specialist Mayday Group and facilities management company AbbeyExec have joined forces to form MaydayExec.

The new national company, based in London's Soho, has a pool of 2,500 temporary and permanent staff at its disposal that, thanks to the integration of AbbeyExec's existing computer system, can be booked in advance at any time of the week, day or night.

"This partnership means that, where we might in the past have supplied our clients with catering staff only, we can now also meet their needs for cleaning and reception staff, making us a one-stop-shop," said Sarah Anderson, chief executive of MaydayExec.

There will be no redundancies as part of the deal, but the new company will downsize from three London offices to two. Both companies' management teams will remain unchanged, being combined as part of the deal.

Linda Halliday, a director at independent contract caterer Wilson Storey Halliday, joins the new company as a non-executive director.
