Mexican bake-off

ORIGINALLY conceived by the Aztecs as bread baking ovens, Mexican "Chimineas" are fired clay vessels in a choice of styles and finishes to suit various outdoor cooking applications using wood shavings, charcoal or other natural burning materials. Measuring about 1m high and supplied with a cast iron stand, Iguana chimineas are hand-made in Mexico and priced around £60 each.

Cooking options include grilling, roasting, baking and also casseroling using a Tonala, a Moroccan pot with a glazed base and lid and steam vent in the top .
