Midnight Excess
OK. THAT'S IT. This is my comment this month. We have all had enough gloom and doom this year so it is now time to enjoy ourselves. Well, nearly time.
Breaking with the tradition of years, Hospitality Action has ditched its usual spot in November and moved it's annual fundraiser ball forward to 5 September.
I am tempted to say it will be a ball - and so it will be - but it is a ball with a bit of a difference. The evening is themed around a journey on the Orient Express and, although you will be seated in the Great Room at Grosvenor House, Park Lane, you will have to use your imagination and pretend you are travellling across Europe in the most glamorous train in the world. Your taste buds will be tantalised by authentic dishes from England, France, Switzerland, Austria and Italy until you arrive at your final destination, Venice, for a Grand Masked Ball.
So, stick it in your diaries now. This really is an unmissable train - sorry, event. And the great thing is it won't be late or unable to run because of the wrong kind of snow or leaves on the line because it not being organised by Connex!
And, of course, it is all in a good cause as money raised will help colleagues in the industry who have fallen on hard times.
