Mother seeks compensation after holiday park drowning

The mother of a teenager who drowned in a holiday park swimming pool in Cornwall is suing the owners for compensation.

Cheryl Gregson's 19-year-old daughter Vanessa drowned in the accident at Honicombe Manor Holiday Village at Callington in May, along with a family friend, seven-year-old Tshan Kamara (Caterer, 20 January, page 4).

Gregson, from Liverpool, is suing park owner Mike Vernon.

At an inquest in January coroner David Bruce criticised the design of the pool, which has since been closed for improvements.
