Nelson Hind adds £1.5m to coffers
Nelson Hind Catering Management has scooped a number of contracts in the past month worth more than £1.5m in turnover and pushing the company's total business over £12m for the first time.
Next week the company is to begin feeding more than 200 staff at Nestlé's Ashbourne manufacturing base in Derbyshire.
The contract is worth £53,000 a year in turnover and was previously held by contract caterer Brian Smith. Nelson Hind is overseeing a £40,000 refurbishment of the staff restaurant at the site.
The company has also taken over the staff-feeding contract at Hygena Packaging's manufacturing operation in Scunthorpe, Humberside.
The contract, formerly held by Sutcliffe Catering, is worth £100,000 a year in turnover and will operate on an annual rolling contract basis.
Last month also saw Nelson Hind take over from the in-house caterers at Marshalls Aerospace in Cambridge. The deal, worth £700,000 a year in turnover, involves feeding 2,400 staff.
The company is now 46% ahead of its budgeted trading profit for 1995.
