New exhibition offers pub trade products and advice
Taking time out of your schedule to visit the new National Pub Trade Exhibition could prove a valuable help to the running of your business.
The exhibition takes place on 14, 15 and 16 February at the Telford International Centre.
Innovative products, ranging from services and technology, furnishings, cleaning and leisure products to pub food and catering equipment are promised at the exhibition.
Entry is free to all pub owners, licensees, managers, tenants, free house owners, catering managers of licensed establishments, hotel proprietors, wine bar managers and restaurateurs. Car parking is also free.
As well as visiting the 120 or so stands, visitors will be able to attend seminars tackling common pub trade questions and queries.
One seminar taking place on 14 and 15 February that is particularly topical at the moment, is: "How to apply for a Children's Certificate and make it profitable".
From this month, as part of the Government's much-touted deregulation policy, publicans can apply for a Children's Certificate. But how should you go about doing this? This seminar aims to guide applicants through the maze of legislation.
Other seminars include "Revitalising the pub menu and staying legal", and "Retaining and developing your staff". These seminars are free and seats can be booked in advance.
As well as the seminars there will be a pest and hygiene workshop, held by Rentokil. This, it is claimed, will give visitors the chance to discover the latest developments and requirements on pest control and health and safety matters.
Cookery demonstrations, incorporating recipe ideas, will take place throughout the three days. The demonstrations will show how to improve your pub food menus and increase profits. Visitors to the demonstration will receive a free Lea & Perrins recipe book.
And if you need to quench your thirst, the Campaign for Real Ale is organising a tutored beer tasting.
