New extraction system dismantles in minutes
A new concept in fume extraction, developed initially for temporary kitchens, could have important benefits for all types of kitchen by simplifying deep cleaning and reducing the fire risks caused by grease build-up.
The Foldacanopy prefabricated extraction kit can be quickly assembled and dismantled on site by the user, enabling all the components (except the motor) to be taken down and washed individually in a standard dishwasher. Dismantling is by quick release components with no special tools needed.
The Foldacanopy was initially developed by Container Kitchen Systems as part of the temporary Foldakitchen range, but it can be supplied and fitted to provide any kitchen, permanent or temporary, with a full-size ventilation hood. Conventionally, extraction systems are built in situ with only the filters removable for thorough cleaning.
The prefabricated kit is made up of 1.2 m stainless steel sheets and erection/dismantling takes no more than five minutes. The largest part (the motor), is able to fit through a space measuring no more than 600 mm across.
CKS points out that the ability to clean down the canopy system frequently limits the build-up of grease and dust and lessens the possibility of fire.
