When you open a fridge or freezer door, warm air floods into the unit, which can cause thermometers to give a false, air-based reading. To combat this, Nutrifreeze has brought out the Foodsafe, a thermometer that is said to replicate food temperatures by being wrapped in a gel which maintains a constant, even temperature, as frozen or chilled food would. This saves energy, as there's no reason for you to crank up the fridge or freezer dial. It's also said to give accurate food temperatures without the need to pierce or contaminate items.
