Occupancy levels in English hotels are continuing to climb back from the decline at the beginning of the 1990s, according to the English Tourist Board.

But the 50% bedroom occupancy in November 1995 is still seven points down on the peak in 1988. London properties put in the best performance, with an average bedroom occupancy of 69%.
