Broad: ambitious expansion drive
Managing director Phil Broad said the 6,000sq ft sites in Cambridge and Stevenage, Hertfordshire, held on 25-year leases, marked the beginning of an expansion drive. "We'd like to do six to 10 a year for the next two years," said Broad, who aims to develop "pockets" of outlets in key locations around the M25, the South Coast, the Thames Valley, the Midlands and the M4 corridor. Outback already has six sites - Romford and Basildon in Essex, Staines and Enfield in Middlesex, Wandsworth in south-west London, and Birmingham. The company will also launch a new lower-priced menu this week, with eight appetisers under £3.99 and 10 mains under £10, excluding steaks.
