Overture for Aria in Prague
The Czech capital, Prague, is to get a new, 52-bedroom boutique hotel with a musical theme.
The Aria, which opens on 19 September, has four floors dedicated to different musical genres and guestrooms that honour artists and composers from Elvis to Brahms. Guests will also be able to consult the in-house music director about local musical events and view screenings of live performances.
Hotelier Henry Kallan said the theme is in part a reaction to Prague's architecturally beautiful yet uninspiring hotels. "We try to come up with a concept and special look for each of our hotels. I think the [music] concept is unique."
The hotel's restaurant will be under the direction of Nils Jebens, one of the city's top restaurateurs, and rack rates start at €325 (£227) a night or €225 (£157) for the first two weeks. The in-room internet access and 24-hour business centre are complimentary.
Housed in a former theatre in Prague's Mala Strana, the Aria is Kallan's fifth themed hotel and his first outside New York.
