PAYTON'S NEW PLACE

STAPLEFORD Park proprietor Bob Payton is making a highly dis tinctive addition to his 35-bedroom hotel in Leicester shire: he is converting an ancient cottage on the site into a luxury unit featuring four suites, designed and paid for by four of the biggest international brands around.

Range Rover, IBM, MGM and Coca Cola are furnishing their own suites - though not with overt branding. The IBM suite will feature state-of-the-art computers, the MGM suite will have its own giant screen and Range Rover is throwing in the use of a car.

Beyond that, Mr Payton said, "they will do it with the same impeccable taste as the 35 people who designed our other 35 bedrooms."

The cottage kitchen is being designed by Anton Mosimann, on offer as a chef on occasions.

Likely users, according to Mr Payton, might be wealthy people who want to treat their friends, at ú3,000 a night, with Mr Mosimann as house chef. But he also thinks corporate clients will be keen.
